E-consultation workshop
0900-1300, 25th June 2001 Peter Froggatt Centre, Queens University Belfast
80 people came along to see how the Internet has been used to aid the consultation and decision making process. Stormont Minister Dennis Haughey opened a morning in which they explored innovative methods of public consultation. These complement existing systems and provide opportunities for greater participation.
Our speakers have helped organise consultations for the Dutch Government, designed software to improve German town planning, and got young people to discuss human rights in the only neutral venue in East Belfast: the Internet. During the programme, participants saw demonstrations of the software tools, and discussed with other participants how we can run our own e-consultations.
The workshop was organised by Queen's University Belfast Schools of Management, and Law, for the E-consultation study group.
